Our first meal at an Indian restaurant that was not the run of the mill "chicken tikka" joint. We ordered: 1. eggplant chaat - excellent, tangy, tasty, with a zing 2. Ghee dosa for our nephew - his first time eating Indian food. He's familiar with crepes from Brittany but nothing like this. He especially loved pairing it with the silky coconut chutney. 3. Mango chicken - creamy, tangy, tasty. For Luc, it was the perfect balance of heat and tang. Another first. Thankfully, not sweet. 4. Chettinad chicken: Perfect heat, my husband relished the nuanced spice and heat of black peppercorns. 5. Goat sukka - deliciously hot. The meat was meltingly tender, perfectly spiced. the marrow bone was a treat - smooth. 6. Fluffy long grain (thank God it wasn't basmati) rice, crisp and soft naans, well-layered Kerala porotta - not greasy, just crisp where it needed to be and soft elsewhere. 7. We took home chicken 65 and chilli chicken because the table next to ours looked like they were really relishing them. We had no room for dessert so we'll be back. Chef Shaji sticks to making great food with no gimmicks. Check it out!

Great food! This is my third visit. Always on point. Not a huge fan of their weekend lunch buffets, but if you are there for dinner, you will be pleased with the flavors. Shown in the pics are goat curry, chilly chicken and kerala parotta.

We were looking for an Indian restaurant in this area and found some good reviews, so we wanted to try this place. This is in a small shopping mall area and has enough parking available. There is a pizza shop nearby with beverages too. This place is a BYOB. As we entered the restaurant it is well maintained and nice decor. There is a buffet section, and they have lunch buffet during the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The tables are nicely maintained. I saw that at least 3 tables were occupied, and a lot of take out orders were going. We got the menu and ordered meat appetizer Platter and goat kadai with garlic Naan. The staff is very friendly to work with as we changed some options and he is able to accommodate it. Coming to the food, the goat kadai went well with garlic Naan, and it tasted okay with white rice. But much better with Naan. The goat was so tender and cooked well. The appetizer Platter cane with 2 tandoori pieces, 3 to 4 chicken Tikka , malai kabab, and then 3 to 4 shrimp. The chicken felt so soft and delicious. Garlic Naan was delicious, too. We will definitely visit this place one more time!!

I have only positive notes! The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is sweet, and the cuisine is luscious. My husband had the 'railway chicken' and really liked it, he is a tough critic. I had a masala dosa, yum, and the crispy eggplant chaat. 5 stars. What I am really jazzed about though is the weekend buffet. It seems that there will be many more Kerala dishes available then. There is something to try called kapu, I think it's a pounded tuber with spices. This would be my ultimate dream restaurant if there was anywhere to dine outside but it's a strip mall location. No worries if you normally dine indoors. They were also super kind about allowing us to use our own takeout containers. We will be back !

My wife was in the mood for Butter Chicken and told me that we didn't have the ingredients to make it. So, I said, "That must mean you want to go out to an Indian restaurant." And she agreed. We decided to try a new one and Mayura was our choice. We got to the colorful restaurant just before six on a Friday evening and for most of our meal were the only ones inside. However, a steady stream of customers were in and out of the place picking up their to-go orders. The empty buffet stations were on one side and there were several tables and booths. Since we were the only ones there sitting, our server gave us all the attention. We ordered samosa, chicken tikka avocado salad, garlic naan, butter chicken, and goat biriyani. We were very happy with the food. The two samosas were crispy outside and delicate inside with the flavorful tamarind sauce. The chicken tikka avocado salad was a nice "good for sharing" size with a light dressing that was so pleasing. Could've used a little more chicken, but still very good. My wife loved the naan (no bread for me right now) and her butter chicken was almost milkshake thick and definitely made with heavy cream. Again, a bit skimpy on the amount of chicken. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly. Lastly, the goat biriyani came out and I was like, "Oh boy," because it was a voluminous mountain of rice and seemingly a great amount of goat pieces cooked quite well. I may have only finished a quarter of it, but this was also meant for sharing. It will be great for my lunches next week! We enjoyed our experience at Mayura and will make a return trip when Indian food is calling. The buffet is available on weekends only and costs $20 an adult. For our meal, it was $63.68 for everything above including $6 for two cans of Coke. We tipped generously.
